> Stadium indoor navigation app using BLE beacons

URL: https://www.matthewswong.com/en/projects/stadpass/

A mobile application for indoor navigation inside large stadiums using Bluetooth Low Energy beacon technology: find your seat, a facility or a food booth, and order from it without leaving it. Built by a five-person team under the Kampus Merdeka programme at Swiss German University, and tested against a simulated stadium rather than a live matchday.

## How it works

- BLE beacon hardware placement planning and SDK integration
- Interactive stadium map design with POI overlays
- Indoor positioning algorithm using signal triangulation
- In-app food purchase flow with real-time booth notifications
- End-to-end testing in a simulated stadium environment

## Features

- Real-time BLE indoor positioning
- Interactive stadium maps with POIs
- Seat finder and facility navigation
- In-app food ordering
- Real-time vendor notifications

## Impact

The simulation established the flow end to end — positioning, seat finding and ordering. It could not establish matchday accuracy: BLE positioning reads signal strength, 2.4GHz is absorbed by water, and a stadium at capacity is the one condition an empty test cannot reproduce.
